New Delhi: The body of a 65-year-old woman who was attacked with a sharp weapon and left leg burnt has been found in a house in Burari area of north Delhi.
Police said the woman has been identified as Rajwari from Kamalpur in Burari. He said that according to Pramod (38), who runs a dhaba, he and his wife had gone to Khajuri on Saturday, but when they returned home around 10 pm, she was found dead.
Police said the culprit appeared to have known the elderly woman in advance. He said the body has been kept in sabzi mandi mortuary and a postmortem is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday. A case of murder has been registered in this regard and three police teams have been formed to nab the accused. Police said, it is taking action in all aspects including the possibility of theft. CCTV footage of the area around the spot is being seen to trace the culprit.
