New Delhi: Russia and Ukraine's seed-going war has been 20 days since today. Russian troops are still wreaking havoc in Ukraine, while on the other hand, the Ukrainian army is also at the forefront. Meanwhile, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that more than 22,500 Indians have returned home from the war-hit country of Ukraine.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar told the Rajya Sabha, "Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing serious conflict in Ukraine, we have ensured the safety of our citizens. On Tuesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed the Rajya Sabha that on the directions of the Prime Minister, we launched Operation Ganga, which led to one of the most challenging evacuation exercises during the ongoing war situation.
The Union Minister said that our community was scattered across Ukraine, facing its own logistics challenges. The war of two countries (Ukraine and Russia) had put more than 20,000 Indian communities at direct risk. Even as we were participating in the global deliberations of this situation at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the challenge was to protect our citizens and ensure that they do not face any problems.
