2,334 Covid-19 positive cases, 20 deaths reports from the state TAMIL NADU

On Sunday, November 8 2020, Tamil Nadu has reported 2,334 Covid-19 positive cases and 20 deaths taking the tally to 7,43,822 and death toll to 11,334. Along with Chennai with 601 , the surrounding districts like Chengalpattu reported 120 cases, Kancheepuram 89 and Tiruvallur 133 cases has been reported. 

80% hospitalized of COVID-19 have vitamin D deficiency

Few other districts which reported over 100 cases are, Coimbatore (205), Erode (103), Salem (102) and Tirupur 119 cases. Currently the active cases in State is 18,894. Around 75,384 people were tested and 74,589 samples on the day. Positively 2,386 people were discharged after treatment. One more private lab Krishna MRI and CT at Salem has been approved for Covid-19 testing. All the deceased had comorbid conditions.

Due to increased testing and strict adherence to COVID-19 management protocols, the state is seeing gradual decrease in the positive cases. Tamil Nadu is considering to reopen schools in this month. Shops were allowed to open till 10 PM.  Lot of relaxations have been given in the Unlock 5.0 to ease people normal living.
