Mumbai: Union Minister of State Raosaheb Danve on Friday claimed that at least 25 disgruntled MLAs of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra are in touch with the BJP. Contrary to Shiv Sena's claim, he also pointed out that he was not offered the CM post by the Bharatiya Janata Party due to the seat-sharing discussions in 2019.
"At least 25 MLAs of MVA are in touch with us as they are unhappy," the BJP leader told reporters here. However, he refused to disclose the names of the MLAs. In Maharashtra, the MVA alliance was formed by bringing Shiv Sena, NCP and congress on one platform. The alliance was formed after the 2019 Assembly elections in Maharashtra due to Shiv Sena's split from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Danve attacked the Shiv Sena, alleging that it had deviated from its Hindutva ideology. He said "The party got votes in the 2019 elections because of PM Narendra Modi, but later they (Shiv Sena) stabbed the Bharatiya Janata Party in the back.'' The Union Minister further said, "The present Shiv Sena is not Babasaheb Thackeray's sena but it is the army of Uddhav Thackeray and Abdul Sattar (minister in the state government).'' Danve said he was present in 2019 in the wake of a closed-door conversation between Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Amit Shah, Devendra Fadnavis, Ashish Shelar, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at the Thackeray family's residence 'Matoshree.'
