Bengaluru: The ESI (Employees State Insurance) scheme has extended to 26 districts of Karnataka effective May1 this year by the labour and employment ministry.

Only 4 districts are out of it named Bidar, Mangaluru, Chikmagaluru and Madikeri.

Employees working in units and establishments beyond the clusters in the 26 districts will now be eligible for various facilities including healthcare.

For registration, employers need to go to www.esic.in and for any clarification they can contact tollfree No. 1800-425-0636.

The modification will be implemented in the remaining four districts from December 31.
