Microsoft has announced the closure of its prestigious Internet Explorer (IE) browser in June 2022, as the company plans the future of Internet Explorer, introduced on Windows 10 at Microsoft Edge in 1995. Just as Microsoft 365 online service has announced the end of ie support, Microsoft has been moving away from Internet Explorer support in the last one year.

With Microsoft Edge able to handle this responsibility more, internet explorer 11 desktop app will be excluded from support for some version of Windows 10 on June 15, 2022, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. Internet Explorer was once the most widely used web browser that achieved nearly 95 per cent usage participation by 2003.

With the launch of Firefox (2004) and Google Chrome (2008), and with the growing popularity of mobile operating systems like Android and iOS, its use share has declined, which does not support Internet Explorer. If you are a consumer using Internet Explorer at home, Microsoft has reported that you should join Microsoft Edge before June 15, 2022 to start enjoying a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience.
