New Delhi: The 28th World Book Fair is starting today at Pragati Maidan in the capital Delhi. The theme of the World Book Fair held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi has been kept as 'Gandhi- Writers of writers'. This year, a special pavilion has been built on Mahatma Gandhi in the World Book Fair. Thousands of books of about 600 publishers have been kept in the book fair.

Apart from Indian publishers, books from 23 countries in Europe and Asia have also been kept in this fair. The World Book Fair will continue from January 4 to January 12 at Pragati Maidan. According to Kumar Vikram, editor and project in-charge of the National Book Trust of India, Ahmedabad's Navjeevan Trust has been selected as the content partner for the fair. The National Institute of Designing has been chosen as the design partner.

This time more than 1300 stalls have been installed for the book lovers at the World Book Fair. Dialogue discussion has also been organized with authors, scholars. Prominent personalities participating in these programs are Dr. Rakesh Pandey, Dr. Varsha Das, Aflatoon, Avinash Dubey, Dr. William, Bhaskaran, former Justice Narendra Chappalgaonkar, etc. The fair will be inaugurated by Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. While 23 different countries will participate in this fair, neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will not be part of the book fair this time.
