According to the Chief Wildlife Warden of Tripura State, on Wednesday, three hogs of an endangered species were found in Salima area of ​​Dhalai district in Tripura. Warden, DK Sharma said that this is the first time the presence of hog has been recorded in the state.

For your information, let us tell you that for the first time, hog badgers of a rare species were found in Tripura in a village of Salma in remote Thalai district. It is a threatened species and has characteristics of both pig and bear. It eats small fruits and animals. Last year, it was also recovered in Assam.

He said that the cubs of all three hog budgers have been shifted to Sipahijala Wildlife Sanctuary for nutrition and two of them are doing good work, while one of them was in a dehydrated condition and under treatment. Milk and fruits are being fed to healthy cubs and all are subject to them. Veterinarians monitor there. At the same time, Sipahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, located about 25 km from Agartala, is the largest of the four sanctuaries in the state. Hog badgers, scientifically known as 'arctox collars', are listed as endangered species in the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
