3 injured as student organisation workers clash on Himachal University campus

Shimla: A bloody clash broke out between student organisation workers at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) campus Shimla on Tuesday morning. Three workers sustained serious injuries. There was first an argument between the SFI and ABVP workers over something outside the law department block. After which, the student group workers rushed and started kicking each other.

It has been learnt that there is also information about the use of sharp weapons in the clash. Three injured students have been sent to a hospital for first aid at the health centre in HPU.  Moreover, soon after the incident, police from Thana Baluganj and Summerhill outposts rushed to the spot and police personnel have also been deployed in the premises. Both the student organisations are said to be responsible for the violence.

Reports say that the atmosphere in the premises has become tense since the incident. Police are engaged in taking action in the case. There have been bloody clashes between student organisations several times in University in the past. The atmosphere of violence has created a tense situation in the premises.
