The festival of Vijayadashami(Dussehra) will be celebrated on 30th September. On the day of Vijayadashami, Lord Rama killed Ravana. As Ravana was a great scholar, he was also the supreme devotee of Lord Shiva.

Lord Shiva had given many boons to him. Prior to the death by Lord Rama in the war, Ravana had told Lakshman ji (Lord Rama's brother) some important things of life. When Lakshman went to Ravana, Ravan told Laxman three things.

Ravana told Laxman that whenever any auspicious thing is to be done, that work should be done immediately.

Ravana said that like I delayed coming to Shriram's asylum. Ravana told Laxman another thing that never thinks of his enemy as weak as I always understood Ram.

Ravana said that I had asked for the blessing from Brahma that nobody could kill anyone except Man and Ape.

Ravana told Laxman the third thing that if there is any secret of your life then you should not tell anyone because Vibhishan knew the secret of my death. This was the biggest mistake of my life.
