The consequences of not linking Aadhaar with PAN are written in the Finance Bill 2019. Sub-section (2) of section 139AA of the Income Tax Act had earlier stated that PAN would become invalid if PAN was not linked to Aadhaar. However, the Finance Bill has amended the provision effective from this month. According to the new rules, all such PAN cards will be deactivated. This means that such PAN cards will not be in use.
