Ghaziabad: A huge mass wedding ceremony will be held in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on Thursday. As many as 3,000 couples from Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Bulandshahr will tie the knot together at Nehru Park. Food arrangements have been made for 35 thousand of people in this program. Apart from this, 75 thousand rupees will be given to each couple. CM Yogi Adityanath will attend the ceremony virtually as the chief guest and bless the newly married couples.  

Only those people who had registered with the Labour Department 1 year ago will be able to attend the mass marriage ceremony. Under this scheme, Rs 75,000 will be given to every couple. Of this, Rs 10,000 will be sent to the bride and groom's account after buying clothes first and Rs 65,000 after marriage. Due to this mass marriage, there is a provision of breakfast with food for about 35 thousand people. Apart from Puri, vegetables, chickpeas, naan, and paneer, there will also be sweets in the food. Bread pakodas and tea will be given for breakfast. The entire cost will be borne by the UP government.  

As many as 1,710 couples from Ghaziabad, 794 from Bulandshahr, and 568 from Hapur will participate in the mega mass marriage ceremony. Tight security arrangements have been made. About 5 fire brigade vehicles and heavy police bandobast have been kept. In this, 182 departmental and administrative officers have been arranged for duty. As many as 1,863 Hindu and 1,172 Muslim couples will attend the wedding. Along with 80 pandits from Haridwar, maulvi and Sikh religious leaders Granthi and Buddhist religious leaders from Ghaziabad have also been invited to get this mass marriage program completed here.
