Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) strongman Azam Khan's troubles are not abating. Now the court proceedings against Azam Khan have also intensified in the case of making lewd comments about BJP leader Jaya Prada. The hearing in the case of making controversial remarks on former MP and actress Jaya Prada could not be held on Wednesday due to the absence of a witness. The court summoned the witnesses on November 25, 2022.
Let me tell you that this case is from the time of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Many SP leaders had reached the honor ceremony of the Muslim Degree College of Katghar police station of Moradabad along with Azam Khan. During this time, many SP leaders including Azam, SP MP Dr. ST Hasan had made very nasty comments about Jaya Prada. On this, Mustafa Hussain filed a complaint against Azam and all SP leaders. The case was heard in the court of CJM IV Smita Goswami of MPMLA Special Court. Special Public Prosecutor Mohanlal Vishnoi said the trial in the case could not be held on Wednesday due to the non-appearance of a witness. The court has summoned the witnesses of the trial and fixed November 25 as the date of the hearing.
Let me tell you that in the contempt case issued against Azam Khan, on Wednesday, the statement of the case's investigator Neeraj Kumar was recorded on behalf of the plaintiff party. The court posted the matter for further hearing on December 2. On January 29, 2008, a case was registered against Azam and his son Abdullah Azam and several other SP leaders following a dispute during a vehicle search in the police station Chhajlait area. Even after the summons were issued to Azam Khan several times, he did not appear in court, on which a case of contempt of court was registered in police station Chhajlait.
