Zarine initially wanted to be a doctor. Salman Khan saw her on the sets of Yuvraj and decided to cast her in Veer because she looked like a princess. She might be dubbed by critics as Katrina Kaif's chubby lookalike, but she is actually a pretty actress with a sweet face and classic Indian looks. She did not disappoint in her first film Veer, was quite a sensation in Ready's popular item number 'Character Dheela' and had a good screen presence in Housefull 2.
She was hugely appreciated for her acting in Punjabi film Jatt James Bond. She made her Tamil debut with 2013 Vetrimaaran's Naan Rajavaga Pogiren, in which she did an item number in the song "Malgove" which became very popular.

She is the brand ambassador for Sweet Dreams Loungewear, a popular line of relaxed clothing in India and for the education centre Samalkha Group of Institutions. She speaks Hindi, Urdu, English and Marathi, and some Pashto.
Her parents separated as her dad didn't want to take responsibility of 2 girls. She discontinued her education to support her family after the separation. Her first job was at a call centre. Her mother encouraged her to do Hate Story 3 owing to their financial status.
