Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that the 3rd Bodo Accord shows ‘self-reliance’ and ‘unity’ and ‘integrity’ among the communities in the Bodo belt.  In a meeting organized to mark the first anniversary of the signing of the 3rd Bodo Accord at Ambagaon in Udalguri, Sarma said that The self-reliance ideology of Upendranath Brahma has been achieved through the Bodo pact.

Addressing to the meeting, Sarma said, “The self-reliance ideology of Upendranath Brahma has been achieved through the Bodo pact and the elected representatives have shouldered the responsibility for bringing rapid progress and development in the region."

Himanta Biswa Sarma also claimed that there are no clauses against any community in the 3rd Bodo Accord. He said, “A total of 11,000 families will be provided with land pattas in the Bodo Territorial Region within a fortnight." He also assured that all government welfare schemes will be implemented in a transparent and corruption free manner in the region. The minister also announced set up new colleges in four districts in the Bodo belt and establish a Bodoland University campus in Udalguri district . He also announced to declare Tamulpur a district.
