Kabul: At least 40 people have died in a stampede since Monday when foreign security forces opened fire at Kabul airport, a Taliban commander said. Afghan media quoted the commander as saying that people should not be deceived by fake rumors about traveling abroad should avoid coming to the airport.

The Taliban say they are making all-out efforts to bring lasting peace progress in Afghanistan. Taliban commander Mohibullah Hekamat said they should not be imported through airplanes, killing 30 to 40 people at the airport yesterday (Monday) and injuring several others. They should stay in their homes, there will be no problem for them. The US and other Western countries have resumed their flights to evacuate their citizens from Afghanistan. However, commercial flights are still closed.

On Tuesday, the second day of Taliban rule, afghans were gathering around Kabul's international airport. Reports say that people of different ages, both women men, some without passports, are demanding to board and leaving the country.
