Israel-Hamas war The Israeli Defense Forces have found firearms inside Al-Shifa Hospital on day 42 of the conflict in Gaza. For several days, the main hospital in Gaza was surrounded by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), who alleged that Hamas fighters were sheltering there. The UN, meantime, has denounced the acts of Israeli forces for breaking into the hospital in Gaza. In contrast, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan referred to Israel as "a terrorist state" when speaking to AK Party members in Ankara.
Israel has stated that there are still many trying days left in the fight and that the military operations against Hamas will not finish with its entry into the Shifa hospital site in Gaza.
Before Israel claimed to have penetrated the hospital grounds on November 14, the UN reported that forty people had passed away at Shifa Hospital. According to reports from the UN, just one hospital in northern Gaza is allegedly still operating at a minimal capacity.
Israel launched its attack on Gaza in retaliation for a cross-border Hamas raid on southern Israel on October 7, during which gunmen, according to Israeli estimates, killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians, and captured over 240 captives. 33 Israeli troops are said to have died in Gaza.
