Bangalore: Five people admitted to ICU infected with coronavirus have died at Sri Bhanji De Khimji Lifeline Hospital in Hubballi, Karnataka. The people have reportedly lost their lives due to lack of oxygen. These 5 people died within an hour and a half. The family members of the deceased have accused the hospital of lack of oxygen.

However, Dr. Yashwant Madinkar, district health officer who visited the hospital, has categorically denied that the cause of deaths was oxygen deficiency. At the same time, he has said that a committee of experts will look into the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ramrajan has said that a clear picture of the case will be revealed only after medical examination.

Earlier on Monday, more than 24 corona patients died due to an alleged lack of oxygen at a government hospital in the Chamarajnagar district of Karnataka. There have been reports of oxygen shortage in several hospitals across the country with injuries in corona cases and many people admitted there have died due to this.
