New Delhi: The number of people who lost their lives due to corona epidemic in a day has gone up to 2,26,188, while 3,82,315 new cases of infection have been registered in a day. The Union Health Ministry has informed that after these new cases, the total number of corona virus cases has increased to 2,06,65,148.

After continuously increasing cases, the number of patients undergoing treatment in the country has gone up to 34,87,229, which is 16.87 per cent of the total cases of infection, while the national rate of recovery from corona infection has been recorded at 82.03 per cent. According to data up to 8 am, the number of people recovering from the disease has gone up to 1,69,51,731 while the mortality rate due to the disease has come down to 1.09 per cent. The number of corona patients in the country had crossed 20 lakh on 7th August last year.

On the other hand, the number of infected patients had crossed 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. This was followed by corona cases of 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, one crore on December 19. India had also crossed the 2 crore mark on May 4 this month, reaching a critical position.
