When people think of addictions, they think of things like drugs and alcohol. But there have be researches which prove that a particular behavior (behavioral addiction) is on the rise. This includes lack of control over one’s action or obsessive behavior which has some negative consequences.
Internet
This seems like one of the most important source to stay connected, learn stuff or explore certain things. Individuals who are addicted to the internet tend to neglect things happening around them or the people around them like family and friends.
Shopping
Shopping makes you feel really good. When you do it often, you shop just to feel good; but you end up buying things you just don’t need and waste your money. This causes financial, legal and social problems.
Working
You may disagree with this but workaholics find reasons to work even if there is no requirement. They are constantly thinking about work and work related issues.
Gambling
If you win at gambling you feel lucky and tend to do it often. But if luck is not on your side, you’re bound to lose a lot and this can affect your finance, you family and your job.
Cellphone
This is one thing that no one and absolutely no one can do without. Yes, you are totally addicted to your cellphone. You constantly keep checking messages, facebook, instagram, etc. you can’t go a second without your phone.
Watch out for some of these addictions and work on it by staying away from it, at least for a while. Learn to resist and delay gratification.
