We all are excited for Navratri, The festival of Joy, Dance, and Purity. It is one of India’s most cherished Festivals. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in India and is regarded as the start of the Hindu New Year in India. 

The nine-day festival of Navratri dedicated to Mother Goddess Durga is just around the corner. During these nine days, devotees keep a fast after performing the Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana on the first day, i.e. Pratipada. The Shardiya Navratri in the Hindu month of Ashwin is the most important and significant of all Navratris (Magha, Chaitra and Ashadha).  Navratri is an auspicious festival, several people fast during the nine days. Garba and fast at the same time is might be a problem but not to worry here are 5 ways to stay healthy and energetic during fast.

Stay Hydrated: The solution of all health-related issues is water. Drink as much water as you can or you can also have, juices, coconut water, etc. will provide you with satiety and boost your energy levels by deterring dehydration and loss of minerals from the body.  You can also have watermelon or orange juice. Staying hydrated will help you stay active during these 9 days of festivity and keeps you energetic.

Proper Sleep: Sleep is very important to stay energetic lack food and lack of sleep at a same time affect your health badly. A small nap will re-energise your system. A 15-20 min nap is enough to give your body adequate rest. Ensure 7-8 hours of sleep at night.

Add Nuts in your diet: Nuts helps you to get essential components. Include nuts like almonds, walnuts and cashews have high-calorie density and abundance of proteins, carbs and healthy fats which furnishes steady and sustained energy boosts. Remember, do not overconsume. Makhanas on the go. Instead of munching on unhealthy snacks, namkeens or pakoras, have a handful of roasted makhanas.

Avoid Sugar eat fruits: The rich content of natural sugars and fiber makes it a source of slow and sustained energy release. You can have an apple or any other fruit which helps you to stay energetic. You can also bananas, yogurt, milk and honey for potassium and calcium-rich sweet smoothie.    

Milk products: Milk, curd, butter milk, Lassi and various other milk product add to your diet to stay energetic during fast. These products are an important part of a fasting diet as well as healthy.
