On Wednesday, the Punjab cabinet has approved changes in several rules to increase the efficiency of all departments of the state. Under this, 5000 or more grade-pay officers have been included in the Group-A service and for this, the Cabinet has approved the Group-A service rule of Punjab Commissioners Officers. This decision is based on the proposal presented by the Department of Personnel on the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission.
With the formation of the Commissioners Officers (Group-A) Service Rules, 2020, the necessary conditions will now be applicable for the services of these officers. Similarly, the Cabinet has approved changes in the proposals for Rule 8, Appendix 'A' and 'B' of the Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defense (Group-A) Service Rules, 1988. Also, the posts of Commandant General Home Guard and Director Civil Defense have been changed to Additional Commandant General Punjab Home Guard and Additional Director Civil Defense.
Departmental officers will be able to take the benefit of promotion to the level of Additional Commandant General in the current pay scale of Commandant General, and the powers, powers of Commandant General can be exercised by DGP Home Guard and Director Civil Defense. The Cabinet has also approved the change in Rule 14 (2) of the Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 2007.
With this change, participants who are admitted in the Upper Judicial Services through direct recruitment in the Bar Council will be able to directly benefit. Now, according to the practical experience as a Bar Council lawyer, officers will be able to take advantage of additional increments when the basic salary is fixed.
