Srinagar: Veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who resigned from the party after being in Congress for 50 years, is continuously giving setbacks to the party. Many leaders are continuously leaving Congress in his support and in this sequence, on Tuesday, once again 65 leaders resigned from Congress. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarachand is also included in these leaders. All these leaders have written joint resignations to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.

Besides Tarachand, the leaders who quit the Congress include former ministers Abdul Majid Wani, Manohar Lal Sharma, Garu Ram and Balwan Singh. All of them resigned even from the primary membership of Congress and said that we are with Ghulam Nabi Azad Saheb. Talking to the media, Balwan Singh said, 'We have sent a joint letter of resignation to Sonia Gandhi. This decision has been taken in support of Azad Saheb.' He has said that we have told in a letter to Sonia Gandhi how the party is facing a leadership crisis. He said the way the top leadership is functioning, the party has been destroyed.

Balwan Singh said that we kept working for the Congress for many decades, but the way we were treated was degrading. We have taken this step after our leader Ghulam Nabi Azad left the Congress. We will support them for a better future of Jammu and Kashmir. On the other hand, Tarachand said that once the Congress was strong opposition in Jammu and Kashmir and the country, but now it is falling with each passing day. Our leadership is not working properly and fails to lead the team.
