New Delhi:With the increase in Dearness Allowance, of central employees, there is another good news for them. The Modi government has also increased the House Rent Allowance (HRA) after increasing his DA. This will also increase the HRA in august salary. As per the government order, the HRA was extended as the DA has crossed the 25 per cent mark.

According to the finance ministry's order, central employees will now get 27 per cent, 18 per cent and 9 per cent house rent allowance according to their city. These qualifications are in terms of X, Y and Z class cities. That is, the central employee who lives in the X Class City will now get more HRA, then the Y Class and then the Z Class. According to Harishankar Tiwari, former President of AG Office Brotherhood, Allahabad and Assistant Secretary General, All India Audit and Accounts Association, the central government had changed the way HRA after the 7th Pay Commission came into force.

According to him, 3 categories-X, Y and Z were created for the HRA. Accordingly, it was decided to give 24 per cent, 18 per cent and 9 per cent HRA. It was also said that when DA crosses the 25 per cent mark, it will be revised. Now, DA has increased to 28 per cent. According to Harishankar Tiwari, the X category tops the category. It covers cities with population above 50 lakh. The Central employees who are working here will now get 27 per cent HRA. The HRA in Y category cities will be 18 per cent. While in Z category, HRA will be 9 per cent.
