Ranchi: Malpahari police seized 12,000 detonators and 8,000 gelatin sticks during a search of vehicles at Nasipur check post in Pakur, Jharkhand. They were being carried in rice bags. Police said that they are trying to find out in which mines the rods and detonators were to be used and who was using it illegally.

Earlier, on 18th May, more than 13,000 gelatin sticks, about 4,000 detonators and other explosive materials were seized from two different locations in Maharashtra. A large consignment of explosives was recovered in Bhiwandi in the state on Monday. In the raid, police recovered 12,000 gelatin sticks and 3,008 detonators. The action was taken by Crime Branch Unit-1 of Thane Police. Gelatin sticks were packed into 60 boxes and each box had 190 sticks, police had said.

On the same day, the rural police along with the anti-terrorism cell and local crime branch unit recovered 1300 gelatin sticks and 835 detonators from a farm godown at Ghota in Tiwasa taluka of Amravati district of Maharashtra on Monday (May 17, 2021).
