Patna: Police have recovered illicit liquor and prohibited substances worth Rs 47 lakh from a house in Bhojpur district of Bihar, which is a shabby state. Superintendent of Police of Bhojpur district Harkishore Rai said, "Two people involved in liquor and contraband mafia have been arrested in Semraon village under Charpokhari police station."
Rai further said, "We had received a tip regarding the liquor and prohibited substance kept in the three-storey building. Subsequently, a team led by SHO and Circle Officer (CO) of Charpokhari was formed, which on Saturday evening Raided the village and arrested two people named Manzoor Alam and Umashankar Singh. The house is named after someone Amarendra Kumar Singh. He is called the kingpin of the entire racket. " Rai stated that, "During the search of the house, the police team found 937 kg of Ganja, 140 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liker (IMFL) from the house. Along with this, we have one Maruti Brezza, Maruti Alto, two Apache bikes, Hero Passion Pro The bike, 1 Hero Splendor Bike and 2 mobile phones were also seized. "
Semraon village is situated on the Ara-Sasaram state highway and is considered a bastion of liquor and contraband smuggling in Bhojpur district. Police said that the market price of the seized liquor is Rs 12 lakh and the value of the hemp is Rs 35 lakh.
