Chennai: Police seized 96 bottles of liquor from the car of actress Ramya Krishnan, who performed best in the film Bahubali. The police arrested the driver in this case. Police said the driver was arrested after recovering 2 beer crates and liquor bottles from Ramya's car.

Police was searching all vehicles coming from Mahabalipuram. When they stopped and searched Ramya's Toyota Innova car at the Muthukadu check post on the East Coast Road. The police then seized the liquor bottles and arrested his driver Selvakumar. Police found around 96 bottles in the car. Chennai has not yet opened TASMAC shops and the sale of liquor in the city is illegal and against the rules. According to media reports, the driver Selvakumar has been released on personal bail.

According to a report by the Indian Express, a police officer was quoted as saying, "On Thursday night, a regular vehicle was searched on ECR when vehicles coming from Mahabalipuram in Chengalpattu district towards Chennai were stopped. Similarly, a Toyota Innova Krista belonging to the actress was stopped. Muthukadu check post and police found two crate beers and eight bottles of liquor inside the vehicle. '
