Eyewitness to the murder of the main witness of rape case related to Asaram has identified the main culprit for the murder. Witness identified the accused during the parade in the district jail. Kartik Haldar is accused in the murder case of Akhil Gupta (35) on January 15, 2015. Haldar was arrested last year by the anti-terrorist squad of Gujarat.
The whole story of self-styled Asaram and Narayan Sai, now Bahu's alleged harassment was brought to Haldar, who was lodged in Haryana's Karnal jail, on a local court's directions. In the presence of Subdivisional Magistrate Kanhai Singh Yadav, Witness identified Haldar during the known parade of the district jail. Meanwhile, Executive Chief Judicial Magistrate Jitendra Singh extended the judicial custody of Haldar to 27 November.
Meanwhile, other witnesses in the cases continue to be threatened. Recently, police protection for Arvind Bajpai, a crucial witness in the Jodhpur case, was escalated following the killing of Kripal Singh. The Principal of Saraswati Shishu Inter College in Shahjahanpur had testified in court that the victim was a minor, and had earlier received death threats over the phone.
