This issue is being raised by the Bharatiya Janata Party aggressively. An inflammatory statement from BJP legislator Raja Singh came to light in Hyderabad between the sharp politics on the NRC issue.

Raja Singh has said that those illegal Bangladeshi nationals who are not returning to their country should be shot. Raja Singh is MLA from Goshmahal Assembly of Hyderabad who has said this controversial statement.

Even before Raja Singh, West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh has said that if his government comes, then like the Assam, the NRC will be implemented in Bengal too.

Dilip Ghosh has said that more than 10 million Bangladeshi people are living illegally in Bengal. We will not leave anyone, they will have to face a lot of bad times now. Ghosh said that those who are supporting them should also pack their bags.

On this issue Union Minister Babul Supriyo said that Mamata Banerjee is doing politics on this matter, in 1971, about 1.2 billion people had infiltrated because Mamata Banerjee is worried only about her vote bank, she is opposing the NRC.

The last draft of the much anticipated National Citizen Register (NRC) in Assam was released on Monday. Assam is the only state in the country where the NRC has been issued, in which 28.8 million applicants from the North-East state have 2.8 million people while nearly 4 million people have been found to be illegal.
