Bhima Koregaon violence updates: National Human Rights Commission has taken suo moto cognizance of media reports about the arrest of five activists by the police from different cities yesterday in connection with the investigations in the Bhima Koregaon violence.

National Human Rights Commission has observed that it appears, the standard operating procedure in connection with these arrests has not been properly followed by the police authorities, which may amount to violation of their human rights.

Meanwhile Sitaram Yechury,CPI(M) said ,'There will be a protest at Jantar Mantar(Delhi) tomorrow by the Left and all progressive groups against the unethical crackdown.

 Unless police have proof it doesn't take action, when there is proof Court gives police custody. Follwing Bhima Koregaon violence eminent persons Romila Thapar, Prabhat Patnaik, Satish Deshpande, Maya Darnall and one other person moved the Supreme Court against the arrest of activists Sudha Bhardwaj and activist Gautam Navlakha. SC to hear the matter at 3:45 pm on Wednesday.
