Porn is the reason for molestation cases in India: MP minister Bhupendra Singh

On Tuesday, BJP minister Bhupendra Singh has written to the Home Ministry and demanded that porn websites in India should be banned. The BJP minister is a Madhya Pradesh Home Minister.

According to the reports from Times Now, Bhupendra Singh was quoted as saying,  "We think the reason for rising number of child rape and molestation cases is porn. We are contemplating banning porn in Madhya Pradesh, will approach Centre in the matter,"

He further added that according to a study, conducted by the panel, children are constantly indulging in these type of incidents (rapes). He says the main reason behind this is porn films which are easily available on the internet. So, in order to ban porn films from Madhya Pradesh, he said that he will write to the Central government.

The whole comment made by Singh's comes with the reference to the recent incident happened in Indore, where a six-month-old was allegedly raped and murdered.

On the case, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was recently quoted as saying, "The rape incident in Indore has shaken my soul, such a heinous act with a small child! There is a need for our society to look within itself. The accused has already been arrested and we will ensure that he gets punished for his crime as soon as possible,". The incident happened at Kathua in J&K has triggered a nationwide outrage.

With respect to the incident of rape, the Congress has been attacking the BJP.  and crime against women. On Monday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi commented on Beti Bachao slogan saying that it needs to be coined as "BJP se beti bachao".  "Earlier this government said Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao but now Modiji will say is 'Beti Bachao, BJP ke logon se bachao," he quotes at a rally in Delhi.
