Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Mar. 20 (NT): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president MK Stalin on Tuesday asked the Tamil Nadu government to immediately stop the Ram Rajya Rath Yatra from entering the state.

Stalin said, "The Rath Yatra will disturb the communal harmony and peace in the state”, as ANI reported.

This is being organized by the Vishva Hindu Parishad.

Meanwhile, section 144 has been enforced in Tirunelveli after some miscreants declared a protest against the Yatra. The section will be imposed until March 23.

The Rama Rajya Rath Yatra was flagged off by the Sree Rama Dasa Mission Universal Society from Ayodhya on February 13.

This rath yatra will cross the threshold of Puliyarai in Tirunelveli on March 20 via Punalur in Kerala and pass through Sengottai, Ilangi, Tenkasi, Kadayanalloor, Puliyangudi, Vasudevanalloor, Sivagiri and proceed to Rameswaram via Rajapalayam and Madurai.

It is expected to conclude at Rameswaram on March 25.

Sree Ramadasa Mission Universal Society is to take out the yatra with the objective of creating ‘Ram Rajya’ in secular India.

Stalin said the yatra will affect the brotherhood- spirit among people from various communities who are living in harmony here.

During a similar yatra that was undertaken in the 1990s triggered communal-conflicts in many places and claimed a number of innocent lives, while properties worth several crores or rupees were destroyed in the riots as TOI reported.
