The Central Government will make rules till the end of December on the use of drones. This is what Aviation Minister has said. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will put draft rules on its website this week and will ask the public for a response. Under the proposed rules, the aviation regulator has divided them into five categories based on drones weight. Drones can be used to deliver the goods after the arrival of new rules.

The drones which weigh less than 250 grams and which will not be able to fly more than 50 feet from the ground level, will come in the Nano Drones category. There will be no permissions for these drones. At the same time, more than 250 grams and those who weigh up to 2 kilograms which will not fly more than 200 feet, they will need police permissions.

In addition, for the permission of the drone weighing more than 2 kilograms, first, apply. For this, you have to get permission from the police. Also, the license and the flight plan will also be taken care of. Drones fly in sensitive areas including within 500 meters of India Gate, International Borders, Strategic Locations, will be banned.

Also, Drones will not be able to fly in the Eco-Sensitive Jones like National Park and Wildlife Century. Government agencies will be free to use drones according to their own guidelines. Government agencies will not be part of this framework. The ministry had issued the first guidelines for drones last year, but it has not been implemented yet. The government expects that the rules will come into existence from December 31.

Drones can also be used for commercial purpose, but it is not clear how it will be implemented. In America, companies like Amazon are delivering packages with the help of Drones. The industry seems very happy with this decision.
