If you are an adventure seeker and have a likeness for heights then you must plan your next travel trip to China because China has longest and highest bridge over the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is now open to the public. Designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan and inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar, the bridge is 1000 feet above the ground, 20 feet wide, and can hold up to 800 people at once!
This awesome bridge offers you beautiful panoramic and scenic views; the transparent bridge walk also gives you the most stunning views of waterfalls and Quartz River. Not just the walk, you can also go bungee jumping (the highest bungee jumping point in the world) and zip line off it! Also, it has played host to many fashion walks and has been a great tourist attraction.
Ticket information for Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge
There are three types of tickets, and you can pick your respective time slots and group, which you will get to know while booking your ticket.
Ticket type A - For Grand Canyon only; it will cost you around 118 yuan. Exploring time is of 3 hours, with three different time slots.
Ticket type B - Is for the Canyon as well as the Glass Bridge; it will cost you 256 yuan. Exploring time would be 3-4 hours.
Ticket type C - Is just for the glass-bridge only, will cost you around 138 yuan. Exploring time is 40 minutes.
Things to know before you go
Carrying your luggage would be time-consuming, as the walk starts from the mountains and you cannot carry much. You might end up spending a lot of time in dropping and then picking it up. So, do not carry much along.
Avoid visiting on national holidays, as Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Bridge is overcrowded then. It's also recommended to start your day early to avoid the crowd.
Dos and Don’ts
Visitors are allowed to take mobiles and small sized bags on the bridge. Selfie sticks are a big no on the bridge.
