As we can see that BJP is set to mark a clear win in Gujarat. But the early trends submitted a lead for Congress, the BJP maintained a lead on the lines foretold by the exit polls, as the counting progressed towards a conclusion.

In the Saurashtra Kutch region of the state, the cast coalition fabric woven by Congress President Rahul Gandhi seemed to work well. While the Congress made notable gains in the region moving relatively ahead of the BJP, in north Gujarat, the BJP held a marginal lead against rival Congress.

In the south and central Gujarat areas, however, the BJP began as a clear winner. What is also notable is that the BJP has marked impressive gains in urban areas, reducing Congress to negligible numbers.

In the rural areas, the Congress has had a slight edge over the ruling party. As the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raced ahead in Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections 2017 vote count on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel showed confidence that his party will win the elections.

As per the newest trends available at 10.40 am, the BJP is leading in 98 seats out of the total 182. The Congress is ahead in 79 while Others are leading in three seats.

“Ultimately, the BJP is going to register a victory in Gujarat,” Patel told.“Contrary to early trends, the BJP is leading almost everywhere now,” he continued. Patel, himself, is currently trailing by over 2000 votes from Mehsana. In the 2012 elections, Patel had won from Mehsana by over 24,000 votes. The BJP had set itself a target of over 150 seats in Gujarat elections.
