Japan's leading automobile company Honda Motor Company has started work on electric vehicles soon, keeping India in view of electric vehicles. However, he has said that there is a need for a clear framework to successfully carry these vehicles commercially in the market.
Yashiro Yano, president and chief executive officer of HCIL, said, "We are aware of the Indian government's drive of electric vehicles by 2030. Global vehicles are also being stressed on the global level, so that's why we have started working on such vehicles. "
Honda has said earlier that by 2030, there will be two-thirds of its total sales in electric vehicles. He further said, "Honda has already set up a special team for electric vehicles in its research and development unit."
This team will focus on building both the vehicle's structure and the engine. When asked about the time when commercial vehicles were introduced in India, the Yano said that it will depend on many aspects. He said, 'We need a systematic framework from the government. Standardization of specifications and the basic structure of charging will also be required."
Underlining the government's support, the EU announced that the price of the current version of any current model would be twice that of it. They said, "That's why we will make our plans public about the vehicles in India at the right time."
In the event of taking all necessary steps, in the time it takes to introduce electric vehicles in India, the company said that the company is capable of doing this at the beginning of 2020. However, he said that the means of accessing electric vehicles for a smooth transition should be a hybrid vehicle. Apart from this, it is necessary to develop battery technology and make electric vehicles more economical.
