Honor has pulled out another budget smartphone for Indian customers from his pitcher. Honor 9N handsets last year Honor 9 Lite. The changes are small, but they can not be ignored. Nokia has been used in the display. The selfie camera is 16 megapixels. It comes with glass back, dual rear camera setup, 19: 9 display and out of box Android 8.0 Oreo.

The value of Honor 9N in India starts from Rs. 11,999 Its direct clash is from the handset like Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Oppo Realme 1 ( review ) and Moto G6 ( review ). Does this new smartphone of Honor have a different identity in the Budget Segment? Let's know ...

Honor 9N Design

At first glance, the design of Honor 9 N attracts attention. The back panel is made of glass and it comes with glossy finish. Horizontal Dual Camera is not out of the back pawn surface. The antenna line is hidden. For these reasons, the back panel looks very clean.

The 5.84-inch display has a top-notch which is quite small. Therefore, Honor has also given the option to hide Display Note in the settings menu. The fingerprint sensor that works on the rear side works fast and is accurate too. It can also be used to take photographs, lift phone calls, and slide the notification panel.

Honor 9N specifications and displays

Honor 9N has used Honor's trusted Kirin 659 processor. This processor has also been used in Honor 7X ( review ), Honor 9 Lite, Honor 9i ( review ). There are three variants of smartphones that touch different price segments. The initial variant is of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage, which is worth Rs 11,999. We have reviewed the variants of Rs 13,999 which comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Honor 9N has 3,000 mAh battery. It runs on the MUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset for connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, 4G VOLETE, Micro-USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack. There is no support for NFC. It can be used simultaneously in two sims, but will work on the same 4G network.

Honor 9N has a 5.84-inch Full-HD + IPS display with a 19: 9 aspect ratio. The screen is dominated by the front panel. But this is not a completely borderless screen. At the bottom is still quite awkward. The display is one of the key features of this phone. The viewing angle is very accurate and the panel is bright, vivid and panicky. 19: 9 aspect ratios improve gaming and multimedia experience.

Pre-installed in-app phones such as Facebook Messenger, Tricker and Netflix. The good thing is that they can be uninstalled. To be fair, the number of unsolicited apps given in Honor 9N is disappointing.

Like Honor 9 Lite, this phone of the Honor brand has a very average battery life. In our HD Video Loop Test, the Honor 9N battery lasted 8 hours 40 minutes.

Camera

Honor 9N has dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is 13 megapixels and secondary sensor is 2 megapixels. Also the LED flash is also provided. The front panel has a sensor of 16 megapixels.

The performance of the camera in low light is very poor. There is a lack of detail in the photo and it seems superhuman. Knives also get a glimpse and the phone is slow to focus too. There is a similarity to the front camera too. It lags in low light and takes fine pictures in suitable light.

Beauty mode also gives a 10-degree buffetting and it works fine. You can also take a Bokeh shot from the front camera. This is possible through software algorithms. Photos in this mode are of very high quality and the blur effect does not work many times.

Review

Honor 9N is a compact smartphone that comes with Vibrant display, new design and out of box Android 8.0 Oreo. Color variants are very interesting, especially Robin Egg Blue. At the same time, battery life is extremely average. The performance is less than the average. EMUI looks like scattering and the camera disappoints in low light.

If you want a good display with a slick phone then the initial variant of Honor 9N will prove to be a bargain deal. The rest variants are slightly more expensive and we can not recommend them to buy you. If you are just looking for a phone of this price segment Redmi Note 5 Pro is one of the best all-rounder devices and Asus ZenFone Max Pro is M1 deal fully advantages. Oppo's Realme 1 is also a good choice. It comes with more powerful processors but does not have fingerprint sensor.
