Dogs have been considered man's best friend since time immemorial.

Well, according to the latest reports, Horses have left dogs way behind. Horses can actually read humans.

According to the research performed at the Hokkaido University postulated that horses can analyse human's facial expressions and pitch of their voice to judge their emotional state.

According to the reports, animals that live in herds, have excellent abilities to understand and participate in a communication.

The researchers Ayaka Takimoto and Toshikazu Hasegawa applied the method of expectancy violation experiment and find out whether horses analyse and understand human emotion or not.
Experiments also revealed that it does not matter whether the human being involved is familiar to the horse or not. Horses can actually perceive their emotions equally well.

The method of expectancy violation has been generally used to analyse infant cognitive development. As a part of the experiment, the Horses were shown pictures of a happy facial expression and an angry facial expression, and they then were made to hear a pre-recorded human voice, praising or scolding them.

The experiments concluded with the observation that Horses could match both the similar conditions.

We assume horses are sure to be next to dogs on the list of man's best friend.
