Traffic has been severely disrupted across parts of Delhi and Noida ahead of the farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' march scheduled for Monday towards the Parliament complex. The protest, organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) alongside several other farmer groups from over 20 districts, aims to press the government on a range of key demands.

Images from the scene show long lines of vehicles in various parts of Delhi-NCR, with heavy security in place and police barricades obstructing the roads. In one video, vehicles were seen barely moving at the Chilla border, while on the DND flyway, cars across at least ten lanes were at a complete standstill.

To manage the situation, the Noida Police issued a traffic advisory on Sunday, informing commuters of ongoing restrictions and road diversions.

Alternate routes have been provided for affected commuters, including:

• Chilla Border to Greater Noida: Use the Sector 14-A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhunjhupura Chowk.
• DND Border to Delhi: Take the Film City flyover, Sector-18, and the Elevated Road.
• Kalindi Border to Delhi: Follow the Mahamaya flyover via Sector-37.
• Greater Noida to Delhi: Use the Charkha roundabout, Kalindi Kunj, or Hajipur underpass via Sector-51 and Model Town.
• For Yamuna Expressway traffic: Exit at Jewar toll and proceed via Khurja and Jahangirpur.
• For Peripheral Expressway traffic: Take the Dadri or Dasna exits, instead of Sirsa.

In response to the protest, security has been stepped up across the capital, with the traffic police conducting vehicle checks at various checkpoints.

The farmers, under the banners of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), have been protesting against the central government over several demands, including compensation and benefits tied to the newly implemented agricultural laws. Some groups have been camped at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February.

The farmers' key demands include:

• Allocation of 10% of plots and a 64.7% increase in compensation under the old land acquisition law.
• Compensation four times the market rate, along with 20% plots on land acquired after January 1, 2014.
• Employment and rehabilitation benefits for the children of landless farmers.
• Government orders addressing issues raised by the High Power Committee.
• Proper settlement for populated areas affected by these policies.

BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa expressed readiness for the march, saying, "We are ready to begin our journey towards Delhi. Starting from under the Maha Maya flyover in Noida, we will reach the Parliament complex by noon to demand our compensation and benefits under the new laws."
