A recent Forbes (an American magazine) report has enlisted the World’s most powerful countries. The contemporary world is bipolar, with countries striving for global domination and power along with economic growth, political impact and outstanding military prowess. According to the list, USA ranks on the first as the World’s most powerful country, followed by China on the second and Russia on the third. In the top 10 list, Israel ranked on the 10th spot. Notably India doesn’t feature in the Top 10 list, here is all you need to know about the rankings:

The report evaluates countries on 5 criteria: Leadership, Economic strength, Political influence, Military capabilities and strong international alliances. The countries are the most popular grabbing news headlines, preoccupy policy makers and shape the economic patterns worldwide.

USA leads dominating the globe with its powerful and diverse industries, highest military spending and a strong presence of World’s top IT firms that largely contribute to its economy, a fair share to mark its hold on the planet.

China is rising high with its technological advancements and AI developments, now becoming the World’s second most powerful nation in the world. Russia is not far behind at No. 3 with its abundant resources and as we have seen in the recent years, the military capabilities.

The United Kingdom is becoming a major hub for technological startups, followed by Germany which is inching forward advancing with its green energy solutions. While, France is showing a leap by modernization of its industrial sector, thereby increasing the efficiency and competitiveness.

Apart from China, other Asian nations to feature in the list include Japan and South Korea. Despite their ageing populations, the countries are showing significant run with their technological growth. While Japan is investing huge in semiconductor production and electric vehicles, South Korea leads in technological and renewable energy solutions.

Moreover, the bottom two in the Top 10 need a special mention making a significant noise in the global arena. Israel as known has got the best of technology which is advancing swiftly along with its defense capabilities. And Saudi Arabia is becoming wealthy with the oil reserves and the emerging mega tourism.

India is ranked 12th by Forbes in the list of Top 10 most powerful countries of the world. it is the world’s most populous country, having the fifth largest economy, a strong political influence, global partnerships and military capabilities. It’s current GDP is estimated $ 3.55 trillion and a population of 1.43 billion.

The ranking framework was developed by BAV Group, branch of WPP, the research led by Professor David Reibstein from Whatron School, University of Pennsylvania, in collaboration with US News and World Report.
