New Delhi [India], July 12 (NT): Delhi Chief Minister and AAP superemo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday told off Principal Naheed Usmani of Rabia Girls Public School for detaining kindergarten students over an alleged delay in the payment of fees.
CM Kejriwal along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today visited the alleged school and assured the students' parents that strict action would be taken against the authorities.
Meanwhile the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had issued notices to the Delhi Police and the Education Department seeking accurate reports over alleged detention of children in the basement Rabea Girls' Public School.
Worth mention here The DCW also sought details of action taken by them against the school authorities. It has also asked the Delhi Police and the State Education Department to act in response by July 17.
It is noted that a few kindergarten students were allegedly locked up in the basement of the school building on July 9 for not paying their due fees.
It should be noted that the school authorities rejected all the reports and stated that the students were asked to sit in the activity room for few hours. (NT)
