Chennai: During DMK General Council meeting held at party headquarters in Chennai, MK Stalin elected as President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). DMK Working President MK Stalin has filed nomination for the post of party president in TamilNadu on this Sunday.

On the other hand, Durai Murugan elected as the treasurer of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Here are the visuals when MK Stalin  and Durai Murugan paid tribute to CN Annadurai and M Karunanidhi after being elected as the President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) at party headquarters in TamilNadu.

Prior the meeting  Two-minute silence observed at DMK General Council meeting at party headquarters to pay tribute to former TamilNadu CM M Karunanidhi, former PM Atal Bihar Vajpayee, former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee, former TN Guv Surjit Singh Barnala and former UN secy general Kofi Annan.

There were a rusk between late Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M. Karunanidhi's sons MK Alagiri and MK Stalin with each other in the party presidential election on Tuesday.

The place of DMK president has been lying vacant after the death of Karunanidhi on August 7. Stalin was holding the post of working president in the DMK while Alagiri was expelled from the political group in March 2014 by Karunanidhi for defamatory attacks on veteran party members and carrying out anti-party actions.
