Maharashtra CM helped a cancer patient with 1.5 Lakh rupees

Politician remains in controversy due to one or other comment on their opposition party. But this time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s is in the light as he helped a woman named Sanjeevani Mukadam of Alibaug with 1.5 Lakh Rupees. The woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer from last year has written a message to the CM about her poor condition and seek money for her treatment charges.

The 47-year-old, in October, found that she is diagnosed with cancer and asked by doctors to visit a well-equipped hospital for a better treatment. But as she was not even able to raise her 12-year boy properly and was struggling hard to earn two times meal, lose hope and got treated with some medicines only. The disease got a soar and became unbearable in two months. After which she visits a Sion Hospital, Mumbai in March with the help of some villagers. There also she found herself helpless because of financial constraints. She expressed her condition as:“I was avoiding going to Mumbai as travel and treatment both required financial support. Even the basic question, where would I stay, haunted me.”

Spending her days with the tension that after her who will raise his son (as he was raising her single-handed), found a hope when his son found CM details. Mukadam said: “He had read in a newspaper somewhere that the CM helps poor patients,” After founding the contact details she wrote to CM: “Breast cancer sathi suvidha kara baikansathi (please provide facilities for women suffering from breast cancer; I will die due to breast cancer as I can’t afford the treatment); Ek lakh kon denar mala (who will give Rs 1 lakh to me for the treatment? I am helpless, a single mother, dying because I can’t afford the treatment. I can’t go to Mumbai. Now the option left for me and my son is to consume poison and die).” The message was full of emotion and made CM to immediately reply: “OK, I will help you.”

This two-three words of CM have changed her life. While expressing her happiness she stated: “I was so glad to see the CM’s message. The same night I got a call and we were asked to meet on June 10. I met the officer from the CM’s Relief Fund,”

The CM immediately sent a note to the officer on special duty for releasing fund for the lady while making sure that the patient would be treated in a well-equipped Mumbai hospital only.

About her condition, Dr Prince Surana, CEO of the MPCT Hospital, Navi Mumbai, said, “When she came to us for the treatment, she was so weak we thought cancer might have spread all over. We immediately did PET scan. Luckily, cancer hadn’t spread but it was third-stage cancer and was local. Her first chemotherapy was done on June 20.”

While expressing his pain and tough experiences Harsh, son of Mukadam said that “My mother tried to seek help from all our close relatives but no one helped her. But the CM Sir helped her. CM Sir must be getting thousands of messages but he read our request. We never thought he will personally reply to us and help us so soon,”
