Manu Bhaker wins gold with a record in ISSF Junior World Cup

Youth Shooter Manu Bhakar won a Gold medal at the International Shooting Sports Association (ISSF), Jr. World Cup Competition Gold Medal, while Anish Bhanwala won a bronze medal in Germany's Suhal. The 16-year-old Manu raised 242.5 points in the 10-meter women air pistol, while Anish stayed at number three in the men's 25 meters Rapid Fire Pistol event. It is Manu's seventh individual medal in an ISSF competition this year and she managed to win it three times with world record.

Manu raised 242.5 points in the 24 shot final, which is Jr.'s new world record. China's Cayman Lu Menu, who secured 236.9 points, remained 5.6 points behind. With these medals of Manu and Anish, the number of medals in India has increased to 17 in the tournament.

In the 58th National Inter-State Athletics Championship, Hima Das won the Asian Games ticket by winning gold with 23.10 sec in women's 200 meters race. The 18-year-old Hima, running in the seventh lane, outperformed Odisha's Bundi Chand (23.41 s) with a big difference.

It was also the individual best performance in Hima's competition. Nadya, the third-ranked Odisha's Shrabani, took 23.87 seconds. With the qualifying time of 23.50 seconds for this event, Dutta also qualified for Asian Games. After getting the gold, Hima said, "I am happy to perform my best personal on my home track. This is a special performance for me"
