After losing the five-match one-day series against England, questions have been raised about the captaincy of Australian captain Tim Paine. In this ODI series, the English team cleaned the Australians. This is the first time in 140 years of cricket history when England beat Australia 5-0 in the ODI series. In this series, Australian captain Tim Paine could not leave any effect in the series as a captain and player, and this is the reason that the head coach of the team Justin Langer has given the signal to change the captain.

Australia now has to play T20 triangular series with Zimbabwe and Pakistan. The series will start from next week, but before the series, coach Justin Langer said that we have to see how Tim Paine is performing in the format of limited overs. If they are successful in performing well then they have the chance but if they fail, then we have to find another option.

33-year-old Tim Penn had made just 36 runs in the one-day series against England. Langer said further that "I had a conversation with national selector Trevor Hones. There is no doubt that Tim Penn is going through a difficult time. They are doing fantastic work from the series against South Africa. He is a great young player. You might have noticed that in the second match, he had been hurt in his face, despite that he kept on the field and fought. It reminds me of many great Australian captains. He said that after the recently concluded series against England and next series in Zimbabwe next month, we have to review and monitor each player's performance closely."

Even in the tri-series, if the Paine is unable to prove himself with his performance then Cricket Board of Australia can also give Aaron Finch captaincy. Glenn Maxwell's name can also be considered along with Finch.
