One study claims that marriage can help people avoid heart diseases and strokes. This study has been published in the journal 'Heart'. The results of married life were mixed in previous research. In order to bring clarity on these issues, scientists have researched the database for relevant published studies. Factors such as age, gender, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes are responsible for around 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases.

Nonetheless, it is not clear why the remaining 20 percent of the cases are revealed. Researchers from Britain's Keele University also resorted to previous research, including Europe, Scandinavia, Northern parts. The figures revealed that those who lost their spouse forever or were divorced, or had never married, they had a high risk of cardiovascular diseases. Risk of a heart attack due to non-marriage increases. This research concludes that there is less risk of heart disease among married people.

Senior study author Dr. Mamas Mamas of the University of Keele in the U.K said it a statement according to AOL, "For example, it is well known that patients are more likely to take important medications after an event such as a heart attack or a stroke if they are married, perhaps because of spousal pressure. Similarly, they are more likely to take part in rehabilitation which improves outcomes after strokes or heart attacks."
