Maryam's lawyer presents concluding arguments: Avenfield case

On Friday, Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of the Former Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif and her husband Capt (retd.) Muhammad Safdar Awan's lawyer Amjad Pervez recommenced his concluding arguments in the Avenfield reference.
After the hearing restarted, the defence counsel presented prosecution witness Mazhar Raza Bangash's letter and interrogated about its authenticity.
Lawyer Pervez, as quoted by the Geo News, asserted, "Bangash said he presented the record in a sealed envelope, however, NAB's witness Zawar Manzoor has said that the envelope was not sealed.
Lawyer Pervez argued that the documents submitted by Bangash were merely photocopies and as per Pakistan's Qanun-e-Shahadat Order, 1984 (Law of Evidence), could not be included in court's records.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family have been facing trials regarding three corruption cases that were filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which are the properties of Avenfield, Gulf Steel Millsand Al-Azizia Steel Mills.
The trial against the Sharif family began on the 14th of September, 2017.
Hussain and Hasan both the sons of Sharif and he himself are presently in abroad and have been accused in all the three references while Maryam and her husband Safdar have been accused in the Avenfield reference.
