Terrorism is a criminal offense for sure but dealing with it on a communal basis is completely unjust.

Since, we have always believed, that movies are the reflection of the society, and can contribute to influence it greatly, movies like Mulk should be encouraged.

It talks about the stereotypes prevailing in our society regarding terrorism associated with religion.

One fact about the issue also stands that to solve it, you need to stop ignoring it, accept that it prevails, breath in deeply and battle it bravely.

Mulk talks about something most of us avoid talking about.

Helmed by, Anubhav Sinha, Mulk revolves around the family of  Murad Ali Mohammed, who lives in Varanasi, played by Rishi Kapoor. It beautifully features a scene in which Rishi says Ram-Ram while the other Hindu character greets him with a Wa Alaykum s-salam. Pratiek Babbar plays Shahid Mohammed, who is the son of the younger brother of Rishi Kapoor’s character.

Shahid gets involved with a terrorist gang and participates in a bomb blast. After the evidence is obtained, Shahid’s family is doubted and tortured in the name of religion.

It is the story of a man’s journey to prove his love for his country over his religion.
