New Delhi: Supreme Court refused to stay the release of Bollywood movie Fanney Khan starring Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as sought by film producer Vashu Bhagnani over the movie's distribution rights.

With the intention of hitting a roadblock after producer Vashu Bhagnani on Monday moved the Supreme Court against the film's release on August 3, his petition alleged that the film's distribution rights (for India) was given to his company Pooja Entertainment & Films Ltd, for which he paid Rs. 10 crore to the film's producers.

He further said the deal has not been honoured and Bhagnani had earlier lodged two separate petitions in the Delhi and Bombay High Courts and on July 19, the Delhi High Court ruled that Bhagnani should not interfere with the film's release.

Following his petition The Supreme Court has agreed to hear Bhagnani's case on August 1(Today).

Vashu Bhagnani claimed his company had signed a multi-project distribution deal with Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment. Worth mention here KriArj Entertainment is co-producing Fanney Khan with Bhushan Kumar's T-Series.

On a related note upcoming film Batti Gul Meter Chalu, starring Shahid Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor, was also a part of the aforesaid deal inked between Vashu Bhagnani and Prernaa Arora's companies.

Now Fanney Khan is all set to hit the silver screen on its scheduled date 3 August 2018.
