New Delhi: Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday declared that the National Testing Agency would begin conducting NEET, JEE (Mains) and NET entrance exams, which are at present held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), from the next academic session.

Holding a press meet, HRD minister Javadekar asserted that the National Eligibility Test (NET) would be conducted in December while  the JEE (Mains) would be conducted in January and April.

On the other hand NEET would be held in February and May.

The Union minister further informed that all these exams would be computer-based and that students can practice at home or at authorized computer centers or MP online Kiosk at free of cost. The details of such centers would be declared as soon as possible.

Javadekar also said in the syllabus, question format, language and fees there will no change. Each exam will be held on four to five dates.

After Class 12 and class 10 paper leak controversy, He assured that this format would be unaffected to cheating and leaks since it’s completely computer-based. One thing is to remind that the SSC, too, was computer-based but was overwhelmed by cheating scams, Javadekar said the NTA module doesn’t permit screen-sharing.
